The deal
TAP Portugal is selling round-trip tickets from Newark to Rome Fiumicino for $575, with a connection through Lisbon both ways. Typical November fares on this route run $850 or higher, so this is roughly 35 percent below the going rate. The routing through Lisbon adds some travel time but the price more than compensates.
How to book
Search and book through Aviasales or go directly to TAP’s site to confirm the fare. TAP Basic fares carry baggage restrictions, so check what is included before purchasing. Prices at this level move fast and seat count is limited.
Shabbos fit
Outbound is Wednesday, November 11; the return is Monday, November 17. Neither travel day falls on Shabbos or a holiday. You spend Shabbos (Nov 15) in Rome. The Jewish Ghetto neighborhood has a Great Synagogue, several kosher restaurants, and a functioning community. Plan ahead, as kosher options require advance reservations or a community contact.
