The deal
The Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Plus card is currently offering 80,000 bonus points after you spend $1,000 within the first three months of account opening. The standard offer on this card runs between 40,000 and 50,000 points, so this is well over 50 percent above what you would normally see. At Southwest’s typical redemption value of around 1.5 cents per point, that is roughly $1,200 in flights.
How to book
Apply through the Frequent Miler link, which may carry a referral credit. The $1,000 minimum spend is low and easy to hit. The card carries a $69 annual fee. Southwest flies nonstop from Newark and Baltimore to Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Orlando, and other Florida cities, making these points directly usable for the destinations our readers fly most. Note that Southwest does not fly internationally, so these points stay domestic and Caribbean.
Shabbos fit
80,000 points can cover multiple round trips to Florida from the New York area. Plan departures and returns on weekdays. Southwest’s flexible change policy means you can adjust flights easily if your schedule shifts around Shabbos or a Yom Tov. Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach have strong kosher infrastructure, including restaurants and full-service hotels catering to observant travelers.
